There are many companies providing financing for US and Canadian citizens who wish to invest in property in Mexico. Each company has its own set of regulations, limitations and requirements.

Basically,

• You need a good credit rating.
• You need to qualify for the loan. (Many companies will prequalify you for a loan.)

When deciding on a company to finance your loan, consider the reputation of the company, the various factors (amount, interest rate, time period, etc.) associated with the loan, and the benefits each company can provide.

Interest rates vary, depending on a number of factors, but attractive rates are available. You will find both fixed rate and adjustable rate mortgages. The number of years of a loan can go up to 30 years, depending on circumstances. The required downpayment is another variable, again, depending on circumstances. Before making a commitment, you should discuss this important decision with a financial advisor.
